POENA is a feature documentary about the effects of solitary confinement in European prisons, based on a comparison between the case of Raquel, a woman who committed suicide after 9 months in segregation in a Spanish prison, and the open regime in Norway.
As the film goes further searching for answers, a hidden tragedy is revealed: the European system not only forces people with mental disorders to be in isolation, but also deprives them of the necessary treatment.
